Meet the People Behind Our Success - Mobile, AL Painting Contractors
We at Pro1 Painters take a lot of pride in the fact that we’ve been offering professional painting services around the Gulf Coast for the past 8 years. We are now a premiere painting contractor and business is booming. But we don’t rest on our laurels…the reason for our success is our people. We have an incredible hard-working, devoted team, many of whom have been around for years.
We want to introduce you to a few members of our team. During one of our monthly “family meetings” when we had the whole gang together we asked them questions to determine what makes them stay? Why do we always hear that working at Pro1 Painters feels like family? What keeps them motivated to do labor intensive work day after day? We were really touched by the conversations we had with them.
Brittany Vincent, one of our crew leaders, shared the personal satisfaction she gets from the interaction with our customers each day. “I LOVE my job!” she says. Brittany guides her clients with decisions on what to paint and choosing the right colors. She says she learns things from the customers as well. “On a recent project we had in Fairhope a customer wanted to paint a beautiful mahogany door a coral color that I at first thought might not be the best choice. I asked her if she was sure and she said ‘Yes!’ And do you know that door turned out absolutely gorgeous! She loved it and so did I!” Brittany, originally from Mississippi, says when she’s not at work she enjoys being with her family, going to the beach, and watching movies together.
Kenneth Wells, one of our estimators, goes out to our client’s home or business to discuss painting plans and to get measurements. He loves being out in the field, and he loves a challenge. For instance one client he worked with had a construction background with some pretty high expectations since he was knowledgeable with painting contractors. Well, turns all his expectations were more than met and our team was really proud. Kenneth, who was raised in Baldwin County and attended Auburn University, enjoys fishing as a hobby, but wouldn’t reveal his favorite fishing hole site with us!
Ross Pollet, field supervisor, is also a son of Rene Pollet, Pro1’s president and director of sales. The family located to Mobile from Louisiana and started the company. “The thing I enjoy the most about my job is working with the team and being out in the field instead of cooped up in an office!” Ross told us. He shared a moment he was particularly proud of. A client of theirs had purchased a rather run-down looking house next door to her mother’s house. “We had to complete the painting job by Friday, and our man on the scene told us he wasn’t going to be able to meet the deadline. So my brother and I and other team members headed on over and we got that job finished. It looked fantastic and the new owners told us how much they loved the paint job of their house!” Ross has a lot of responsibility but relaxes by being with his three dogs, and taking his Yamaha Rhino ATV out to Loxley trails for a spin. He also enjoys doing projects around his new house.
What Makes Our Painting Team Different
One thing that seems to bind our painting team together is that even when they’re working they know how to have a little fun with a variety of friendly games and competitions. For instance, who is the cleanest after a job is finished? Or who can finish their job the quickest?
Our team may not see each one another often since they’re at different job sites, but it’s important to get everyone together to communicate what’s going on, talk about what’s new, and just to hang out. We have monthly “Family Meetings” to enjoy each other’s company, dig into some good food and actually get in some training sessions.
Pro1 Painters has high expectations of our team members, but we also want them to feel like we’re more than just a paycheck. We see the pride in their jobs, we hear about all the extra things they do for our customers. Our people are the reason for our success, and when we’re together we’re family. Who wouldn’t want to work for a place like us?
